I was invited to a tea party by Troy. It was at his school in room #109 and I was told to not be late.
I sat down in my seat and saw handmade things with hearts and mom all over them. I saw Troy at the front of the class and he looked so happy to have me there. I was so happy to be there. I looked through the things he had so carefully made for me. I reminded myself to take a mental photo of the Troy standing up there looking at me so lovingly and of the things he had made. I knew right then that this was in a way the beginning of the end. I know that soon I will open my eyes and he will be 16.
Troy had made me a hat. He said it took a long time to make it because he had to twist all the little pieces of paper onto a pencil and glue to the hat. I loved my hat and made sure to put the string behind my ears like Mickey Mouse ears.
Troy and his class lined up at the front and sang us for songs. Mrs Levine told us that the handbags the kids had me had tissues inside in case we got misty eyed from the kids singing. I did.
I got a little bit of the singing on video for you:
We got to join in with them singing "You are my sunshine". It was so cute. The tissue was used.
After the singing the kids came up and gave us hugs and told us all about the work they had done for us.
This is what I got:
*"I love my mom because - she helps me grow".
*"Hats off to Mom - by Troy
I love my mom because...she makes me wofls wif sirop. She helps me... dow my homewrok. She finds time to...go to six flags wif my. My mom is the best mom ever."
*"My Mom by Troy -
My mom looks the prettiest when she makes me pancakes. My mom cooks the best chicken. I help my mom cook. I like it when my mom plays with me. Thank you, Mom, for giving me lots of love."
After the reading we got some morning tea from the kids. Troy went and got me some water and a brownie and happily watched me eat it. When it was his turn to get his food he brought me back an extra cookie.
While we were chatting away Troy was busy taking photos of his friend Erin. She is adorable!!
I had such a great time and I really really hope they do the same thing for Father's Day as I know Jay would get a kick out of it too. Thanks Troy, I love you so much and I am so proud of you!!
Mwah!
