Food photos from Japan. I can't believe I didn't take more photos of actual food but here is a slideshow of places that served food. Oh and I added a compulsary karaoke photo - I think I sang more than I ate!!
So don't look at the photos if you are a bit squeamish - that's your warning.
I got a fright on Monday when we went for her checkup at the pediatrician to see how everything was going and he freaked out. "Oh my god, it looks like it's dead. Let me get the other doctors". So three more pediatricians came in and looked at her finger tip - which is black and looks Frankensteinish - and they all look and ask how it happened and leave. The pediatrician sends us immediately to Van Nuys to see an orthopedic surgeon to see if she is going to need surgery on the dead finger tip. Loved that drive as all I was thinking was "oh my god, they are going to take off her finger!!" We get there and the surgeon takes a look and says "It looks great!". Huh? I say that the pediatrician said it was dead. She says yes it's dead but the goal is to make the flesh underneath heal and grow to cover the bone that we could see. Her tip will shrivel and fall off but healthy tissue should grow underneath. The great thing she said was that her fingernail is there so from the front it will look normal it will just be from the back that it will look shorter.
Can I get a group - PHEW!?
The drive home was nice as I felt like I could breathe again.
I would like to mention that I am a master of bandaging and I attribute that to being a scout all those years back. The pediatrician was very impressed with my bandaging. Teagan keeps getting it wet so I keep redoing it. I am not freaked out by her finger anymore as I've rebound it so many times now.
Next Tuesday we go back to see the surgeon to see what the next step is as she still has the stitches in as you can see. She is doing great though and amazingly isn't in any pain at all. She is a tough cookie. I would be asking for Vicodin if it was me!
